Composition of the material
Our barefoot shoes are currently made of synthetic fibers, namely 92% polyester and 8% spandex. The soles of our Pelanu shoes are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Unfortunately, natural materials do not yet meet our standards for fit and wearability. However, we are constantly working on new alternatives.
NB: This type has a thinner upper material for seamless use in and around water for the most natural barefoot feeling imaginable. Furthermore, the shoes contain holes in the sole to allow for good airflow. Barefoot shoes are therefore waterproof, but not water-repellent.
